Geriatric Care Connection was established by the husband-wife team of Kirk and Carla Brown after years of experience witnessing families deal with crisis in caring for their elders. Beyond facing elder care challenges in their own families, both have worked in the hospital emergency room setting (Kirk has been a P.A. in a busy trauma ER for 12 years), and have seen families struggle to manage care for an elder loved one through injury, illness, death of a spouse, etc. Most importantly, based on their Christian values and beliefs, Kirk and Carla share an obligation to honor all elders and help provide the best possible care in their later years. This is our ministry to offer happiness and safety to seniors, and peace of mind and comfort to their family members.
Most recently, Carla managed a non-medical in-home care company. There she gained the respect of her clients and their families alike (as shown in the testimonial quotes on these pages) for her caring spirit in providing both physical and emotional support to seniors and giving valuable guidance to the adult children now serving as their caregivers. She is also a respected public speaker, seminar presenter, and consultant to professional service providers.
Geriatric Care Connection primarily serves seniors in the area from Auburn/ Opelika, AL to Phenix City, AL through Columbus, GA to LaGrange, GA and the outlying areas of the surrounding counties, but we will be happy to share our expertise with families in any other area. We can conduct research and interviews and work with our contacts in these areas (such as the Area Agency on Aging, AARP, Department of Human Resources, Adult Protective Services, etc.) to make recommendations anywhere.
